Community Projects

Gallery shows for high school students: Designed and created an art gallery at Notre Dame High School Belmont, and currently produce yearly juried shows for high school students, including publicity, judging, matting, framing, installation and opening, 2012-present

Collaborative Community Murals at Notre Dame High School, Belmont: Organized, facilitated, and oversaw completion of collaborative student-designed and student-painted 22’ x 5’ murals on the walls of the school, with 22-24 students.  “Inspiration”  2008,  “Follow the Wave” 2010, and “We are…” 2012 (on-going)     

“I am…” wall project: Installation and sales of 108 original wall-mounted canvas paintings by Margaret Lindsey, all proceeds benefiting Doctors Without Borders. Half Moon Bay, CA, 2007

Hospice Mask Project:  Invited artist. Painted mask for 2001 collection. These were auctioned to support home hospice programs and services in San Mateo County, CA. 2001, 2002

Surfrider Foundation: donation of artwork for fund-raiser, and support of preservation projects, 2001

Becoming Human--coming of age in the modern world: Co-created and facilitated a year-long series of consciousness workshops for teens, to mentor and initiate the process of “becoming an adult."  Kayumari Meditation Center, 2000-2001

Gallery shows in the Half Moon Bay Community for high school students: Curated and directed yearly juried gallery shows for local high school students at Eriksen Gallery in downtown Half Moon Bay, including publicity, judging, matting, framing, installation and opening. Mural Project at Half Moon Bay High School: Developed and directed a six-year long project of student designed and painted large-scale murals.  Half Moon Bay, CA, 1992-1999

Human Geography: Coastal Topography: A collaborative community group sculpture installation in Half Moon Bay, CA. Grant awarded by Peninsula Community Foundation. Wrote grant, directed project, 1997-1998

Artists in Residence Project: Coastside artists collaborating with Half Moon Bay High School students, Half Moon Bay, CA. Grants awarded by Peninsula Community Foundation and by Cabrillo Education Foundation.  Wrote grant and administered program, 1991-94

Restructuring Grant for Half Moon Bay High School: Collaboratively wrote successful $50,000 grant. Co-organized and administrated all events which were funded and planned in the restructuring grant, 1991-92
